The honors are piling up for Stephen Curry. After being crowned NBA champion and finally elected MVP of the Finals against Boston, the Warriors point guard will see his jersey retired by his university.
Davidson announced that a ceremony would take place in August, and that starting next season, and this is a first for the faculty, no Wildcat will be able to wear the #30.
On August 31, Stephen Curry will also enter the Hall of Fame of the university and will take the opportunity to receive his diploma, freshly obtained last May. It is notably thanks to the latter that he can become the seventh jersey retired by the men’s basketball program of Davidson since it is indeed necessary to have validated his degree to receive this honor. Although, for the other six, a retired jersey number can still be worn.
.
Mark your calendars for August 31.
