MVP of the night | Stephen Curry’s tears

NBA – Author of 34 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists, Stephen Curry was in tears in the last seconds of the game.

Because he had never been elected MVP of an NBA finals before tonight, some doubted the place of Stephen Curry among the best players in history. It is now done, and it is in tears that he finished the game. Never had we seen the Warriors’ point guard in such a state, and his tears put an end to three years of frustration and waiting. Three years of hoping to find the biggest stage to silence his ultimate detractors.

We were waiting for “Game 6 Klay”, and we got “Game 6 Steph” with 34 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals. All at 12 out of 21 shooting, including 6 out of 11 3-pointers. He had left the TD Garden on his biggest game of his career, and he put a layer to go get the best title of his career.

“I’m so proud of this group. I thank God every day that I get to play this sport at the highest level with incredible people,” he explained, crying courtside. “It’s like this… We’re playing to win a title, and given what we’d been through in the last three years, no one at the beginning of the season imagined us in this place… Except for the people who were on the field tonight, and it’s amazing. It’s surreal.”

In this Game 6, Stephen Curry first let the storm pass, like his teammates. And then he went up in power. A 3-pointer here, a 3-pointer there. Little by little, he took control of the game, especially in the second half. All by playing fair, and by analyzing the defense. In the last quarter, he took advantage of the “switches” to outflank Al Horford and go to the circle. Difficult lay-ups but which did so much good to the Warriors as the Celtics, and especially the Brown-Horford duo, threw their last forces in the battle.

We’re so far from what we did for five years, with three titles in four years…” continues Stephen Curry. ” We hit rock bottom with injuries, it was a long road, and we had to find the right elements and the right people… Nothing was taken for granted because we didn’t know that one day we would be back at this level. For me, there is nothing more beautiful in the world.

For fun, here is Stephen Curry’s record since 2015: 4 NBA titles, 2 times MVP, 1 time Finals MVP, 1 time All-Star Game MVP, 8 times All-Star, 8 times on All-NBA Teams, best 3-point shooter in history (regular season, playoffs and Finals).

And some people still think that he is not one of the best players in history ?
